NBA Trade Rumors: The New York Knicks are still shopping Courtney Lee, Kyle O’Quinn and Joakim Noah as the trade deadline draws near
After losing Kristaps Porzingis to injury and trading Willy Hernangomez to the Charlotte Hornets in the past 12 hours (give or take), the New York Knicks still very much engaged as the NBA trade deadline closes in.
As Thursday’s deadline looms, the Knicks are still very much trying to make an additional move or two before it expires. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks are still very much shopping Courtney Lee and Kyle O’Quinn, while still trying to find a team that is willing to take on Joakim Noah.
New York, earlier Wednesday, traded Hernangomez to the Hornets in exchange for Johnny O’Bryant and two second-round picks.

"[via ESPN]New York continues to take calls about O’Quinn and guard Courtney Lee ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, opposing executives tell ESPN. The Knicks are also still trying to trade exiled center Joakim Noah."
It’s interesting to note that things might have significantly changed in the last few hours for the Knicks. With Kristaps out for the season, New York might be scrambling to try and cash in on a couple of their veteran players, which hold solid value in this year’s trade market.
Lee is averaging a career high 13 points per game on 42 percent shooting from 3-point range. Those are certainly numbers that could very much help a contender or a playoff hopeful. At the same time, O’Quinn is another player that could add valuable depth to any team’s frontcourt.
On the other hand, good luck moving Noah. The former defensive anchor has only appeared in seven games this season and has two years and nearly $40 million remaining on his contract. It’s not only that he is massively overpaid, but it’s also the fact that Noah simply can’t remain healthy. And even when he is, he’s a shell of what he used to be as a player.
