With the 2018 NBA trade deadline officially in the books, we break down the six big takeaways from another wild deadline day

The 2018 NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone.

After a myriad of moves by a number of teams – including several roster-shifting trades by the Cleveland Cavaliers – we’re left to pick up the pieces and break down what exactly took place that will matter and won’t as the NBA pivots towards the stretch run.

In case you were working – or missed what transpired over the last few hours – here’s a quick summary of what took place on deadline day:

  • Cavs get Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance for Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and first-round pick 
  • Grizzlies trade James Ennis to Pistons for Brice Johnson and a second-round pick. 
  • Jazz trade Rodney Hood to Cavs and Joe Johnson to Kings, Kings trade George Hill to Cavs, and Cavs send Iman Shumpert to Kings, and Jae Crowder and Derrick Rose to the Jazz. 
  • Cavs trade Dwyane Wade to Heat for second-round pick. 
  • Nuggets trade Emmanuel Mudiay to Knicks, Nuggets trade Devin Harris to Nuggets, Knicks trade Doug McDermott to Mavericks. 
  • Blazers trade Noah Vonleh to Bulls for rights to Milocan Rakovic.
  • Magic trade Elfrid Payton to Suns for second-round pick.
