Checking in on the pulse of the NBA now that the 2018 NBA trade deadline is in the books, and the stretch run prepares to begin

With the 2018 NBA Trade deadline officially behind us, we can now start to analyze how the trades will affect teams and the players involved. The trade deadline was certainly crazy especially thanks to the Cleveland Cavaliers; it didn’t really feature any big names getting traded outside of Isaiah Thomas.

With that said, here is a look at whose stock is looking up after the trade deadline as well as whose stock is looking down

Stock Up: Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers were the busiest team at the trade deadline as they moved six of their own guys (Thomas, Frye, Crowder, Rose, Shumpert, and Wade) and got four new players (Clarkson, Nance, Hill and Hood). It’s no secret that the Cavaliers were falling apart as the team had appeared to give up on most nights and spent a lot of time pointing fingers at one another.

The moves the Cavaliers organization made not only should help fix the toxic locker room issues but should help the Cavaliers improve on defense. The question now becomes will the new players have time to learn a new system and find their groove before the playoffs come around?

Before the deadline the Cavaliers appeared to be no better than the 3rd best team in the East but with a new cast they should become the favorites in the East. Will the new look Cavs be able to upset the Warriors?
