2018 NBA Power Rankings: Have the Cleveland Cavaliers figured it out?

6. Minnesota Timberwolves (36-25)

With Kawhi Leonard out of the San Antonio Spurs lineup, there’s no question that the Minnesota Timberwolves are the third-best team in the Western Conference. It might be a distant third, but third nonetheless.

And that’s nothing for this team to be ashamed of. The Wolves are still fairly young, and likely have their best basketball as a group still ahead of them.

But a deep playoff run could be huge for this team. Many pointed to the Wolves as being the team that will finally end the Warriors dynasty. I don’t think anyone believed it to happen in 2018, but the experience that they develop this season could help transform them into that team of destiny in the future.
