1. Houston Rockets (44-13)

Along with the Toronto Raptors being at the top of the Eastern Conference, this one-seed is by far the biggest surprise of the NBA standings as a whole.

The Houston Rockets have all of their naysayers in awe of their beautiful play as of late.

James Harden, Chris Paul, and Clint Capela are 28-1 when healthy on the court this season.

I repeat: 28 Wins – 1 Loss

The ability to have a potential Hall of Fame Point Guard in Chris Paul play with the second unit of Houston, separates the Rockets from the rest of the West.

I know what you’re thinking: The Warriors are still in the West, right?

Yes, they are.

Fortunately for the Rockets, being the probable first seed tends to uplift a team against any opponent.

Disclaimer: James Harden and Chris Paul have not proven themselves in the playoffs, so these Rockets may just implode.
