In this week’s NBA Draft, Next Man Up series, we take a closer look at Mississippi State’s Lamar Peters

Last week marked the premiere of the next man up series. The first player highlighted was Jordan Poole. Poole is putting up stronger numbers and is gaining more interest, however he wasn’t and still might not be a well known draft prospect.

This edition of Next Man Up is going to re introduce you to a familiar face. A player who blew up the Adidas Nations in the offseason, and was projected as at least an early second round pick. Unfortunately, just quickly fell off most people’s big boards.

Today, it’s all about Mississippi State sophomore point guard Lamar Peters. Peters has fallen off just about everyone’s draft board. He came into the season coming off the bench and really struggling after such a strong summer.

However, recently Lamar Peters has averaged almost 13 points and six assists in his last six games. His recent improved play shows why we can’t give up hope on Lamar just yet. Here’s a breakdown of Lamar Peter’s game and why he shouldn’t be off NBA Draft radars just yet.
