2018 NBA Draft: Next Man Up, Mississippi State’s Lamar Peters
By Connor Harr
Skills That Need Work: Shooting consistency
Even though Peters can create a ton of space for himself off the dribble he’s a very streaky shooter. On the year, he’s shooting 36 percent from the field, and 22 percent from the 3-point line. Combined with his 55 percent free throw percentage, Peters is really struggling with efficiency.
He has the potential to be very efficient though. With Peters occasionally putting on performances where he scores 20 points, and shoots over 50 percent from the field. For example in his games against Missouri and Georgia both this month he scored 20 points against Georgia, and shot 9-17.
Against Missouri he scored 22 and shot 9-16. So, Lamar does the have the potential he just needs to put together more consistent shooting performances.
