Devon Dotson, PG, Kansas

Composite Ranking: 19

Devon Dotson is a 6-foot-2 score first point guard that can provide a little bit of playmaking as well. Even though his size isn’t plus for translating to the pros he has a wide frame and attacks the rim fearlessly. He’s a volume jump shooter right now, but there is promise for it to become more consistent.

Dotson gets to his pull up jump shot very smoothly, and he has a quick release that looks translatable. I didn’t see a large amount of pick and rolls ran for Dotson, so it will be interesting to see how that part of his game develops being such a staple in the NBA. If Dotson shoots around 38 to 40 percent from the three-point line, there’s no question he will turn some heads with big scoring numbers.

However, he needs to prove once he gets in the lane he can create for others. Devon Dotson will be questioned because of that and not having crazy length or size. Although I am relatively impressed with Devon Dotson and think the main concern should be his playmaking once he gets past his initial defender. Everything else should come in time at Kansas.
