New Orleans Pelicans

Burning Question: To pay DeMarcus Cousins, or not to pay DeMarcus Cousins

For the New Orleans Pelicans, this seems like a simple enough question. You always pay the NBA All-Star. However, DeMarcus Cousins just suffered one of the worst injuries that an NBA player can suffer on a basketball court.

And you can never guess how a big is going to react to lower leg and/or foot injuries. Cousins may never be the same player again, and the Pelicans have to figure out if the risk is worth the reward.

I mean, maybe it all works out and Cousins takes a discount to return to the Pelicans. But, I wouldn’t bet on it.
