NBA Rumors: After making his return to the Miami Heat at the NBA trade deadline, Dwyane Wade isn’t so sure about playing next season
Dwyane Wade always knew that he was going to eventually make his return to the Miami Heat. I’m not so sure he thought it would come this quickly.
After just a year and a half – even though it feels like a lot more – Wade returned to where he made his name in the NBA. After playing one season with the Chicago Bulls and roughly half the year with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Wade was traded for the first time in his career at the NBA trade deadline.
Well, it wasn’t exactly a trade – it was more like a righting of a wrong.

Wade shouldn’t never left, and the Heat should’ve never let him leave. But what’s done is done, and he’s not back in Miami.
At 36, it’s pretty clear that this will be Wade’s final spot before retirement. Question is, when will that come? Possibly sooner rather than later, according to Wade himself.
"[via Miami Herald]Wade, 36, told me in recent days that for the first time in his career, he is genuinely undecided whether he wants to play beyond this season. Wade has said that he will only play for the Heat, if he continues his career beyond this season.“I don’t know,” Wade said. “I have told everybody around me that I am taking it after this season and go from there. It’s the first year I’ve ever went into the summer with that mind-set. I always went into it as a free agent or opting out of a deal to get another deal. This is the first summer I can say I’m just going into the summer and see how I feel and see the position this organization is in and go from there. I’m not really concerned with it, honestly. I’m cool with whatever I decide to do. It will be my decision.”"
This would actually be one of the NBA’s most abrupt retirements by a star since Tim Duncan did it a couple years ago. No farewell tour, and no real signal.
Wade just stepped off his plane from Cleveland, and is already talking about this potentially being his last season? This might only be me, but this does seem a bit quick.
Nevertheless, it would be right at the very least.
Wade should retire in Miami, and this might’ve been the opportunity that he was looking for. He hasn’t completely fallen off, talent-wise, but it’s always better for professional athletes to retire too early rather than too late.
This is gettin real, Heat fans. Soak it in. The last few games of the season could be the final time that we see Dwyane Wade in an NBA uniform.
