23 and younger: The top of the NBA’s bright future

7. Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota Timberwolves

I’m guessing your basketball senses are going off because you just saw Booker and Wiggins in the top 10. I’m high on guys who want the ball in the waning minutes of a game, they have a different type of confidence that a lot of people just call, “Kobe.”

Andrew Wiggins has proven himself offensively in some major ways. For the facets he lacks as a complete player, I believe he will make up for those during this Jimmy Butler stint to the Timberwolves.

Now that Butler is out for awhile, let’s see how Wiggins steps up. Wiggins will hopefully learn how to not play like Carmelo Anthony, and play more like Paul Pierce (those are my personal favorite comparisons).

Most likely, he’ll get to a DeMar DeRozan type level. It’s yet to be decided whether he really helps a team get over that hump in the playoffs.

Time will tell.
