There are a numerous amount of great role players in the NBA, but the league has almost decided all together that Marcus Smart is the king of them. Smart has been the quintessential definition of tough, and he may get his chance to further his legacy in an NBA championship this year.

If Smart’s legacy is being a great role player, that is not a bad thing.

Marcus Smart is averaging so-so shooting percentages, which is what he’s consistently lacked for the entirety of his career. While needing to improve offensively, Smart is one of the only guards in the league who can (for the most part) defend every position on the court.
