NBA Rumors: It’s being reported that LeBron James’ free agency list will include the Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James doesn’t have to make a free agent decision until the middle of July, but it has to be something that he’s thought about in recent weeks.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have struggled for much of the year and nearly traded half its roster at the NBA trade deadline. Depending on what happens in the NBA playoffs – and probably NBA Finals – there’s a chance that LeBron leaves Cleveland in free agency this summer.

And, if he elects to, there are a number of potential landing spots. But, according to a report, LeBron only has four teams on his “free agency list.”

More from Sir Charles In Charge

Per The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the four teams on LeBron’s free agency “wishlist” are the Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and, of course, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"[via  The Ringer]There have been whispers, mostly on social media, about whether LeBron James would consider the Spurs because of the mutual respect between James and [Gregg] Popovich, now the coach of the U.S. men’s national basketball team. But I’ve consistently heard from multiple league sources that LeBron currently has only four teams on his list: the Cavaliers, Lakers, Rockets, and 76ers."

The list isn’t exactly surprising considering the narratives that have taken shape over the last few months.

The Rockets are the West’s surprise team and are led by one of his best friends, Chris Paul, and arguably the third or fourth best player in the NBA, James Harden. The Rockets are a loaded team that could probably win the NBA Championship simply by adding a player like LeBron.

No question.

The salary cap is the real hurdle here, but if LeBron wants it it could get done.

The Lakers are another team that has long been associated with LeBron. He has a house in LA and wants a future in Hollywood. LA also has space to add two max players, so he wouldn’t have to make the jump alone.

The Cavs are the Cavs, and it actually would’ve been the surprise of the century if they weren’t on this list. It’s home.

Philadelphia is really the one kind of surprising team, but not really, on this list. The Sixers are really something that has come together as of late. But there’s no question that this is arguably the best young team in the NBA.

They have all the pieces to be a dominant force for years. LeBron could be the final piece in what could be a championship team.

The great thing about the Sixers is that they also will have cap room to surround him with other pieces. Plus, they have a ton of movable assets (if needed). Philly is no question a threat to sign LeBron James this summer.

If this is indeed the list, no one would blame him. But something tells me this list will change over the course of the next couple of months.
