2018 NBA Power Rankings: Should the Houston Rockets be the favorites in the West?

5. Portland Trail Blazers (43-26)

The Portland Trail Blazers are the hottest team in the NBA right now. They’ve reeled off 10-straight wins and have climbed all the way up to the 3 seed in the Western Conference standings.

That means, they’ll likely host a first-round playoff series. Considering where this team was just few weeks ago, in which Damian Lillard was meeting with the owner in the days leading up to the NBA trade deadline, that’s quite an amazing feat.

I’m not sure how this season will end for the Blazers, but they have an opportunity to make some kind of run in the West playoffs. Unfortunately, they will likely draw the Golden State Warriors in the second round.
