NBA Rumors: The Golden State Warriors will be without Stephen Curry for at least 3 weeks with a Grade 2 MCL sprain
It’s deja vu for the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry.
After suffering a knee injury in a game last night, it’s been concluded that Stephen Curry will miss at least three weeks with a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his knee. He will be reevaluated in three weeks, where it will be determined when he can return.
This is a similar injury to the one he suffered in the playoffs two years ago, when he missed two weeks in the playoffs.
There’s no rush right now, however, for Curry to return. And the playoffs don’t begin for another three weeks. So perhaps he can take even more time to recover this time around, assuming they won’t need him for the first round of the playoffs.
All in all, this has to be great news for both the Warriors and Curry.
In the team’s last six games without Curry, though, the Warriors have struggled. In fairness, those are also games that the team has to perform without Kevin Durant, too, who is also sideline at the moment with his own injury.
The expectation is that Durant will be back in the next week or two, though, and before the start of the playoffs. That could ease Curry’s recovery time, and give him the chance to full recover and then slowly integrate him back into form.

The Golden State Warriors have that luxury though, and not every team in the NBA has. Just look at the Boston Celtics, who are in a similar place with Kyrie Irving, who could miss the start of the playoffs.
It seems like Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors side-stepped something that could’ve been a disaster.
