NBA: The top 10 role players of the 2017-18 season
By Codi Benner
1. Robert Covington, Philadelphia 76ers
Last and certainly not least is Robert Covington of the Philadelphia 76ers, who is the best player on this list. At the very least, he’s having the best season of the bunch.
Covington is a great 3-point shooter and a terrific and versatile defender. On offense, when he’s not shooting 3’s, he’s a natural cutter and fits well next to Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. He is currently averaging 13 points per game on a career-high 38 percent shooting from 3-point range, while grabbing five boards per contest.

Covington also averages almost two steals per game and is the most complete player of this group.
