NBA: The top 10 role players of the 2017-18 season
By Codi Benner
6. Wayne Ellington, Miami Heat
Stats: 11.4 PPG, 2.9 RPG
At times, it seems like that Wayne Ellington is the key source of offense for the Miami Heat this season, it certainly feels like that when they’re struggling from the outside.
He shoots with a lot of confidence even when there is a defender in front of his face. He knocks down 3-pointers at a crazy rate, whether he’s closely guarded or wide open. Averaging 11 points per game on nearly 40 percent shooting from 3-point range, Ellington is a big reason for Miami’s success.
He’s not a big name but his golden arm has kept and won Miami a few games this season.
