NBA: The top 10 role players of the 2017-18 season
By Codi Benner
5. James Johnson, Miami Heat
Stats: 10.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.8 APG
The second member of the Miami Heat that is on this list is James Johnson. When Wayne Ellington and James Johnson play on the floor together, it’s almost like basketball heaven.
Johnson is a type of player that brings the ball up to the floor and creates a pick-and-roll situation. Then he will get the ball back, and he would either dish the ball out to an outside shooter or take the contact basket.
He is averaging 11 points per game, four assists and five rebounds. He is also a very good defender for the power forward position that can defend multiple positions.
When James Johnson is on his game, the Miami Heat are very hard to beat.
