NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue is expected to ease his way back into coaching, will begin his return vs. Pelicans

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been without head coach Tyronn Lue for the past few games. Lue hasn’t coach since March 17, and has been working was way back into health.

Now, he feels he’s ready to begin the process of getting back to coaching.

He will reportedly work his way back into coaching the Cavaliers beginning Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans. He’s expected to be an “observer” against the Pelicans.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

"[via ESPN]Cavaliers coach Ty Lue is planning to rejoin team vs. Pelicans in Cleveland today — as an observer, league sources tell ESPN. He won’t coach game. The plan will be to ease his way back into coaching over Cavs’ four-game homestand, sources said."

The Cleveland Cavaliers have gone 5-1 during the six-game stretch in which Lue has been away from the team. Overall, the team is performing much better in the last few weeks – but I don’t think that has much to do with Lue’s absence from the team.

That would be an unfair assessment to make for both the Cavs and Ty Lue.

It’s important that the Cavs begin to play the best ball of the season right now, and they’ve arguably been doing just that in their last few games – with the exception of an absolute beatdown at the hands of the Miami Heat.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are holding on to the third seed in the Eastern Conference, but are just half a game ahead of the red-hot Philadelphia 76ers, who currently have some issues of their own (mostly, the injury to Joel Embiid).

The Cavs are about to embark on arguably the most important playoff run in franchise history. They’re going to need all the help they can get, including Ty Lue on board and healthy.
