Steve Clifford, Charlotte Hornets

Seat Temperature: Surprisingly warm

Steve Clifford is in a weird spot. The Charlotte Hornets had playoff expectations before the season started, however they have underperformed. But at the same time, Clifford usually has a roster that shouldn’t be in the playoffs, and they make it anyway.

The best season that Clifford had was the one that he had a fantastic bench, which shows that Clifford has the skills to coach a team with some talent. Clifford has been in the playoffs two times in the last five years.

In each of those two years, he never made it out of the first round. Also, Kemba Walker is a free agent after next season, and it could result in a coaching change if he leaves in free agency.
