2018 NBA Draft Player Profile: Luka Doncic

Inconsistent 3-point shooting

This is going to be huge. I’ve read that Luka is a better shooter than his stats indicate. However, I do not know if that’s entirely true.

Doncic is more of a streaky shooter than a knockdown shooter, and is probably closer to 33 percent rather than the 30 percent he has shot all year, taking into account some forced 3-pointers.

However, Doncic only shot 31 percent from 3-point range at Eurobasket last summer as well. The mechanics look projectable and along with an 80 percent free throw percentage signs point toward Doncic’s jump shot improving. Becoming a knockdown shooter will really maximize Luka’s offensive potential in the NBA.
