NBA: 7 most improved players from the 2017-18 season
By Codi Benner
2. Domantas Sabonis, Indiana Pacers
2016-17 Stats: 5.9 PPG, 3.6 RPG
2017-18 Stats: 11.4 PPG, 7.7 RPG
In Oklahoma City, Domantas Sabonis was a stretch four that wasn’t really meant to play the four position. Since the trade from OKC, Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan had him play the five spot, and his play improved substantially.
He is rolling more to the basket, which is a strong suit of his and his rebounding improved also. He could become a more athletic Anderson Varejao with a jump shot, which could be an excellent skill set for a backup center for this young Pacers squad.
His best basketball is still in front of him, and he has the chance to grow with an extremely young and talented core.
