Philadelphia 76ers: 4 things we learned from The Process

By the spring of 2016 the Philadelphia 76ers had compiled a 47-199 win-loss record over the three years Hinkie oversaw the process. Hinkie’s plan had been executed, but other league execs and some members of the fan base were not happy with the process. The league appointed Jerry Colangelo to the team as a consultant of sorts.
With the growing feeling that Colangelo was going to bring in his son Bryan, speculation was rampant that the team would fire Hinkie. Instead, Hinkie stepped down as Sixers GM in a shocking, yet candid letter. The 76ers were left with a eclectic mix of young talent and lottery odds that would ultimately yield the first pick in the 2016 NBA Draft (Ben Simmons).
Hinkie never wavered on his belief in the process. Unfortunately, now without a job he is left to ponder the takeaways with the rest of us. Here are the four most important lessons we learned from “The Process”.
