Victor Oladipo

Highlight Track: “Unfollow” Featuring Eric Bellinger

I honestly had no clue that Oladipo was making any sort of music until a few months ago. Kind of like his NBA career thus far, it flew under the radar until this year. Boy was I sleeping because Vic can really sing. He would not be out of place in the R&B game right now as a bonafide talent and shows that on his track with crooner Eric Bellinger, titled “Unfollow.”

A buttery smooth track about a girl in his life and the temptations of being a successful athlete, it sounds like it shouldn’t work but it really does. He has great pitch for someone new in the game and his melodies are catchy as well. His 2017 EP, Songs for You, features 2 Chainz and Bellinger and is a welcome introduction to Oladipo as an artist. On the title track, “Song for You” he croons,

"“I’ve been so many places in my life and time/Sung a lot of songs, I made some bad rhymes/I’ve acted out my life in stages with 10,000 people watchin’/We’re alone now, and I’m singin’ this song to you”"

I like how he blends his life with basketball into his music and come this offseason, just like Dame, I expect to see another project from the budding R&B star.
