Lou Williams

Highlight Track: “I Want It All” Featuring Meek Mill

I hate to do this to one of my favorite players in the league right now (and pretty much the only reason that the Clippers have a winning record this year) but when it comes to music, Lou should stick to floaters in the lane. While he has collab’d with the likes of Meek Mill, 2 Chainz (Used to be a D1 basketball player, it makes sense) and Jagged Edge, Lou’s rhymes could use some work. On his 2013 debut mixtape Here goes Nothing, he has some notable cringe-worthy lyrics like,

"”8 years ago, said I was a flash in the pan/And now, I’m as solid as the actual pan that’s in hand” & “They be like why he still rappin’?/Cuz dawg I’m still snappin.”"

Since 2013, he released The Album that Never Was in 2017 to limited fanfare and several other singles. He definitely seems to have a passion for music and the ambition to release full-length projects in the offseason, but for now, Lou’s music does nothing for me. Now let’s hope the contract extension the Clips gave him results in another 20+ scoring average in 2018-2019.
