New Orleans Pelicans – Alvin Gentry

Injuries suffered to players of Gentry’€™s team throughout the past 2-3 years have made it hard to evaluate his impact.

After leaving Golden State with a ring, Alvin made bold promises to Anthony Davis of champagne and glory. So far, that isn’€™t the case.

With last seasons arrival of DeMarcus Cousins, Gentry had to pull back and adjust to his Warriors-esque offence. For a good portion of the 2017-18 regular season, he seemed to do well.

Then injury struck again. Although Cousins was out, the Pelicans were able to push through the adversity are in the playoff race. In my opinion, Gentry’€™s assessment begins next season. If the Pelicans can’€™t get out of the first round in 2019, Gentry will lose his position.

At one point, coach Gentry was on the block, now not so much.
