The Boston Celtics outlasted the Milwaukee Bucks on their homecourt in Game 7 to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals; they get the 76ers next
After a grueling 7-game playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks, in which each team won every game on their homecourt, the Boston Celtics have officially advanced the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Their reward? The red-hot Philadelphia 76ers led by Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.
The young Sixers knocked off the Miami Heat in five short games, and have had nearly a week of rest ahead of Game 1 against the Celtics.

Boston has been consistently good all season long, and will face a real test in the current favorites in the Eastern Conference. Even though most still would pick the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the East, the betting favorites currently are the Sixers.
Plus, they appear to be playing the best basketball at the moment too. This is a team that has only lost six games since the NBA’s All-Star break. This is also a team that averaged nearly 115 points per game in their five playoff games against the Miami Heat.
The Celtics have a great defense, but I’m not sure if they’ll have the bodies to match up against the likes of Simmons, a 7-foot point guard, and Embiid, arguably the league’s most talented big.
This is going to be a heavyweight fight, against potentially the two best teams in the East, and it really wouldn’t be surprising either way.
It’s honestly a preview to what the next 10 years will be for the Eastern Conference. The young Celtics – Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Terry Rozier – vs. Philly’s Process (completed).
This has all the looks of a long, satisfying old fashioned Eastern Conference throwback.
Game 1 between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers will be Monday, in Boston.
