NBA Rumors: Now that the Oklahoma City Thunder have been eliminated from the playoffs, it’s close to decision time for Paul George

Roughly a year ago, Paul George made it clear that he wanted out of Indiana. The Pacers did him right, and moved him to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

Currently, the Pacers are preparing for Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James, while Paul George is booking a vacation.

It’s quite amazing how much a year can make.

Nevertheless, George is on the verge of another potentially interesting summer. George will become a free agent once this league year is officially over, and it’s no guarantee that he’s going to return to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He’s said all the right things this season – that he’s happy to be in Oklahoma City and that he would love to continue his career here – but it would be extremely surprising for him not to at the very least take a few meetings this summer.

One potential landing spot that has been long connected to Paul George is the Los Angeles Lakers, a team that he reportedly has wanted to play for his entire life.

The Lakers will have money to spend and George will be an unrestricted free agent in a couple months. It almost makes too much sense for it not to happen, especially considering the Thunder’s disappointing ending to the season.

Paul George has a decision to make, and it won’t be easy.

Does George want to give the Thunder experiment another shot? Or, has he seen enough of Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony to know that this simply isn’t going to work.

George has roughly two full months to think things over. It’s really anyone’s guess, but if I had to guess I’d be shocked to see George in an OKC uniform next season.
