The inevitable showdown between the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors will be the eventual 2018 NBA Finals winner

The Golden State Warriors are in full control of their second-round playoff series against the Pelicans while the Houston Rockets are in a bit of shock after allowing the Jazz to knot up their series at one apiece.

Even with the unexpected stumble by Houston, the general consensus by any fan, expert or not, is that the Rockets and Warriors are on a crash course for the Western Conference Finals.

Before the postseason started, once it became evident that Kawhi Leonard was not going to suit up for the Spurs and OKC’s big three were full of more promise than actual results, the basketball world braced themselves for the eventual showdown between the league’s top two teams.

It’s not customary to make such grand proclamations, but it’s a forgone conclusion that the Western Conference Finals are the actual Finals. No team out East can handle either Western Conference team on any given night, much less in a daunting seven game series.

So which juggernaut is coming out on top after their inevitable series matchup in late May? Let’s explore which team has the edge.
