NBA Rumors: There seems to be a disconnect between KAT and the Wolves
NBA Rumors: There seems to be a disconnect with the Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves, and teams around the league are noticing
The Minnesota Timberwolves are approaching crossroads as the 2018 NBA offseason nears. Not only is there the possibility of a big trade involving Andrew Wiggins this summer, but there is now an apparent disconnect between Karl-Anthony Towns and the Wolves.
And the rest of the league has taken notice. During one of his latest episodes, this is something ESPN’s Zach Lowe touched on.
Here is the report in his words:

- LeBron James working to assemble super team for USA Basketball in 2024
- Dillon Brooks proved his value to Houston Rockets in the 2023 FIBA World Cup
- NBA Trade Rumors: 1 Player from each team most likely to be traded in-season
- Golden State Warriors: Buy or sell Chris Paul being a day 1 starter

"[via Lowe Post]I don’t think that the Wolves are looking to trade him, but teams are definitely sniffing around as if maybe there’s something here. They’ve already taken some calls on him. This is not new. Blake Griffin, the Clippers called and offered Blake Griffin for him. They’re going to, I believe, get more calls on this, especially the way there seems to be a disconnect between Karl and the franchise."
Before Wolves fans begin to hit the panic button, they should take a deep breath. Minnesota is not going to trade Towns. This is something that might’ve gotten out of hand a bit, and likely something that is made to be bigger than it really is.
Even if they did trade Towns, the return would be significant. This is not a situation where Towns has played his way out of the rotation. This is a weird development that just recently came to light. And it couldn’t come at a worse time, especially considering all the rumors that are circulating involving a potential Andrew Wiggins trade this summer.
The Wolves somewhat underachieved this seasons, finishing in 8th in the Western Conference. Although, that likely has a lot to do with Jimmy Butler missing the latter portion of the season with a knee injury. Still, they were swept (in a gentlemanly fashion) in the first-round at the hands of the Houston Rockets.
