NBA Rumors: According to a report, Paul George is planning on re-signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder this summer
One of the biggest names that could be on the move ahead of this summer’s free agency class is Paul George. Over the last year, even after he was traded to Oklahoma City (from Indiana), he’s been connected to Los Angeles.
That had seemed like a forgone conclusion, and an inevitable pairing come July. And after the way the season ended for the Thunder – at the hands of the Utah Jazz in the first-round of the playoffs – those sentiments have only grown. You’d think.
However, according to Dean Blevins of News 9 in Oklahoma City, there are whispers that Paul George has his sights set on giving another shot at this experiement with the Thunder.

"[H/T Daily Thunder]“Allegedly, apparently, Paul George plans to stay with the Thunder. I know it’s not what people believe but, in separate conversations, I’m told PG’s agent has told people associated with the NBA that PG believes the injury loss of Andre Roberson was huge and he’s staying.Disclaimer, though: Believing everything that agents allegedly say can be dangerous to your health.”"
George could theoretically opt into the final year of his contract for next season, and defer free agency until next summer. Or, he could opt out and then sign a one-year max. Either way, if George is really interested in giving the Thunder another year, there will be a number of options in how he could go about it.
Maybe he feels that one year wasn’t enough for this team to gel?
Giving it one more shot – potentially without Carmelo Anthony (?) – might not be the worst idea in the world, especially considering that not many teams will have max money to spend this summer.
Then again, if he really wants to be in Los Angeles, and feels that it’s going to eventually happen – sooner or later – he might as well not drag this process out.

Nevertheless, this summer is going to provide plenty of drama ranging from LeBron James to the likes of Chris Paul and Paul George. And that’s not even counting the number of big trades that can come to fruition.
