NBA Rumors: The Chicago Bulls are reportedly “enamored” with Trae Young, and are high on Collin Sexton as the NBA Draft approaches

The Chicago Bulls might have two quality starting guards on their roster, but that won’t keep them from flirting with the possibility of taking a player like Trae Young or Collin Sexton.

Chicago has a big decision to make this summer regarding Zach LaVine, and whether they elect to pay him big money, but they have an even bigger decision to make in this month’s NBA Draft. The Bulls own the 7th overall pick and it’s important they down whiff.

Especially for rebuilding teams, top 10 picks are so critical. Even though the expectation shouldn’t be finding the next franchise player at No. 7, at the very least a rotation should be the goal here.

Interestingly, while the growing thought is that the Bulls will target a wing player in the draft, there are now whispers Chicago could target a backcourt player. And that’s interesting for a number of reasons, especially considering they have Kris Dunn on the roster and will likely re-sign LaVine.

Nevertheless, the Bulls are keeping their options open. Or, they’re trying to throw a bunch of smoke in the air a few weeks before the draft festivities.

"[via NBC Chicago]The Bulls appear enamored with Young and are high on Sexton and aren’t worried about how it would affect Kris Dunn’s development in the near future."

Even though, on the surface, this might not make the most sense for the Bulls in terms of building a well-rounded team, this should no question be the move. Chicago doesn’t currently have a centerpiece on the roster. And if they believe Young or Sexton has the potential to do that, they should follow their guts.

If they believe one of these guards will be better than LaVine or Dunn, they should let the possibility of roster duplicity get in the way of what could be the very thing the franchise is starving for.
