2018 NBA Draft Rumors: According to reports, teams are angling themselves to try to trade up for Jaren Jackson Jr.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen Mo Bamba begin to rise – quickly – up NBA Draft boards. Now, we’re beginning to see Jaren Jackson Jr. begin to make his way up the boards.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, teams are angling themselves in an attempt to try and trade up for Jaren Jackson Jr. And one team that could be the target of a potential trade up could be the Sacramento Kings.

In a recent report, via The Ringer, it was reported that the Kings and Dallas Mavericks are two teams that could entertain the idea of moving down in the NBA Draft. If the Kings are sold on a prospect – and that could be Marvin Bagley – then moving down wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

In fact, it would actually be the smart move. Something that the Kings aren’t exactly known for, especially in the NBA Draft.

The Kings could pick up and additional asset while still getting the player they believe is the best player in the draft. The big gamble, of course, is ensuring that they can get their target – whether it’s Bagley or not – still after moving down.

That may or may not be a gamble that they’re willing to take. But in order for any team to land Jaren Jackson Jr., moving up to No. 2 or 3 will likely be what it takes.

At the same time, could this also be some smoke ahead of the draft? Agents and/or teams have used hyping up prospects before, so this wouldn’t exactly be all that surprising. No matter what happens, expect the rumor mill to heat up. We’re still roughly a week and a half from the main event.
