21. Jusuf Nurkic, Restricted

Stats: 14.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg

For the Portland Trail Blazers, this isn’t a cut and dry decision to make on Jusuf Nurkic. Even though he was valuable to the Blazers this past season, I’m not sure they can make this type of commitment to a big man that may or may not be marginalized in the NBA over the next handful of seasons.

Nurkic can’t shoot 3’s and I’m not sure those types of bigs will have any role in the immediate future. It’s a difficult decision, especially for a team like the Blazers.

Portland is expected to make some changes this offseason and if they decide to move forward with that they have to keep flexibility. Signing Nurkic to a long-term deal would be the opposite of that.
