Indiana Pacers
The breakout season of Victor Oladipo led to one of the most surprising teams last year(and one of the least surprising Most Improved Player wins in recent memory), the Pacers finished with the 5th seed in the east. Unfortunately for them, LeBron James and the Cavaliers finished with the 4th seed. Although the series was eventually lost in 7 games they did arguably gave the King and Co. their toughest series of the conference.
The future is bright for this team, Oladipo just turned 26 years old, Myles Turner regressed slightly last year but is still only 22 and has plenty of room for improvement, Sabonis also had somewhat of a breakout season, although was understandably overshadowed by his all-star teammate. Sadly, this sudden emergence did leave them with only the 23rd overall pick in the draft, but the franchise has shown an ability to find value in late round picks before and Aaron Holiday, at 21 years old, is more NBA ready than most of his peers.
Indiana can sign a quality veteran, pick up their team options and still possibly have enough flexibility for two max contracts next offseason depending on how much Turner will command.
