Orlando Magic

While many teams on this list have hamstrung themselves with a few big contracts, Orlando has gone a different route and hamstrung themselves with multiple mid-sized contracts. If you round up Jonothan Isaac’s $4.97 million, the Magic have eight players making $5 million or more next year.

With Evan Fournier and Bismack Biyombo leading the way at $17 million apiece. Orlando will have about $15 million to spend this offseason, which will most likely go towards paying Aaron Gordon and Mario Hezonja.

Unless the front office makes a very drastic decision regarding one or more of their young pieces, this roster may look very similar to the 2017-18 version. With a few exceptions, thankfully they were able to draft Mo Bamba 6th overall and super efficient, complimentary wing man Melvin Frazier 35th. Bamba has the physical gifts to be the best defensive player in the league someday and has shown flashes of 3-point potential, he could become Orlando’s most important player sooner than later.

Verdict: Rebuild
