Sacramento Kings

After the DeMarcus Cousins trade it was assumed the Kings would hit reset and bottom out as quickly as possible. They instead signed veterans George Hill, Zach Randolph and Vince Carter to impart some wisdom on the young players.

Hill was a questionable signing considering he was coming off a career season with Utah and the front office had just selected Kentucky point guard De’Aaron Fox. Randolph and Carter were considered to be brought on in more of a mentor capacity than for what they could bring on the court.

The thing is, at 36, Zbo can still play, he led the team with 14.2 ppg and Sacramento went on to win 27 games. Luckily they still wound up with the 2nd overall pick which turned into dynamic offensive big man Marvin Bagley III, who might already be their best player. If they spend wisely this year and don’t commit too much money long term they could potentially have enough space for two max contracts the following offseason to add to their young core.

Verdict: Rebuild
