Rewind, Retool or Rebuild: What direction every team should take moving forward

Brooklyn Nets
Another team that doesn’t really have much say in the matter, the Nets are still trying to rebuild, which is tough when you dealt most of your draft picks for an ill-advised chance to compete. Although they do have a much more competent front office now they still have to deal with the mistakes of the past, this time the Cleveland Cavaliers reaped the rewards of another bad Nets season and selected Collin Sexton eighth overall.
Light is on the Horizon though, Brooklyn owns all of their own first rounders moving forward and have an additional two second-round picks in 2019, although they did lose the 45th pick (eventually making its way to Oklahoma City, who selected Hamidou Diallo) and a future second in the Mozgov-Howard swap.
The Jahlil Okafor experiment may not have had the desired results but they have found several potential building blocks moving forward in Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LaVert. Jarrett Allen has shown promise and D’Angelo Russell is still young. Picking up a high-upside, draft and stash guy like Dzanan Musa with the 29th pick was a smart move. They doubled down on the approach in the second round with Rodions Kurucs who could be stashed overseas as well. This rebuild certainly won’t happen overnight but the foundation is set.
Verdict: Rebuild
