Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers are in a unique position right now, as this very important decision for the future of the franchise won’t actually be made by the front office, at least not right away. The future of the Cavs depends on LeBron James’ free agency. Period. If he decides to leave, its time to dump Kevin Love and George Hill for draft picks and young talent. If he stays there is no alternative but to re-tool and give one of the greatest players ever another chance to win a championship.

Sure, the current roster with the newly acquired Collin Sexton instead of Lebron could possibly make the playoffs in a weaker Eastern Conference but making it out of the first round would be a tall order. It is hard to envision a James-less Cavaliers as a top 4 team, even in the East.

If the King once again takes his talents elsewhere the front office could decide to re-tool and be happy with playoff appearances, although it may not be the right move for the future. If Lebron leaves, Love should be dealt shortly after.

Verdict: Rebuild
