As NBA Free Agency begins, here are 8 bold predictions for what is expected to be a crazy offseason in the Association
Even though the 2018 NBA offseason officially tips off with the NBA Draft, which took place last week, the real start to the madness begins July 1 when Free Agency officially opens.
In a few hours, teams will legally be able to pursue free agents – a group that is led by none other than LeBron James. A few other of the bigger names include Paul George, Chris Paul and DeMarcus Cousins. But until The King makes a decision, all the attention over the next few days will revolve around what LeBron James will do.
And from the looks of it, just a few hours before the official open of free agency, it’s looking more and more like a two-team race, between the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers, with the Philadelphia 76ers trailing in third.
With that said, the start of free agency doesn’t just revolve around teams signing free agents. Even though it’s a big component of the entire offseason, there are a number of other complementary moves – and the biggest example of that is trades. And the potential for blockbuster ones.
Considering all that, here are 8 bold predictions for this year’s NBA Free Agency period.
