NBA Trade Rumors: The Utah Jazz should target Kevin Love
NBA Trade Rumors: The Utah Jazz should target Kevin Love, if he’s in fact the Cleveland Cavaliers decide to place him on the trade block
Now that LeBron James has officially taken his talents out West, joining the Los Angeles Lakers on the first day of NBA Free Agency, the Cleveland Cavaliers need to begin to pick up the pieces that he left in his path.
And one of those pieces happens to be Kevin Love, who is entering the final year of his contract. But instead of trying to field a competitive team ahead of the 2018-19 NBA season, the Cavs should look to trade him.
According to early reports, even though they probably haven’t decided what their next move is going to be, they’re open to the idea of it.

"[via The Athletic]The Cleveland Cavaliers have insisted over the past few weeks that they would keep Kevin Love if LeBron James were to leave in free agency. But multiple sources around the NBA insist the Cavaliers are open to moving Love."
One team that should jump at the idea of trading for Love is the Utah Jazz. He’d be the perfect complement to Rudy Gobert in the frontcourt, and is the perfect player to stick next to a ball-dominant star like Donovan Mitchell.
Acquiring Love probably wouldn’t cost much, and the Jazz (if they relinquish some of their cap holds) could find a way to fit him without dealing significant salary to Cleveland. Think a first-rounder could probably get it done for Utah.
For a team like Utah, Love is the type of move that fits them. Not many big free agents entertain the idea of moving to Utah, so anytime you can snag one via trade – and cheap – you do it. Even if it fails, the Jazz could let him walk next summer.
And if it only costs them a first-rounder in the end, it would be a fair risk to take. The Jazz are an interesting team that many overlook. And that’s going to be the case even more now that LeBron James has move to Los Angeles.
