Golden State Warriors: Why the DeMarcus Cousins signing makes sense
By Zack Kobler
The Golden State Warriors’ move to sign DeMarcus Cousins might not be a popular one around the league, but it was a smart one and makes a lot of sense
There was no reason to believe that no one was offering a contract to DeMarcus Cousins. However, his Achilles injury does make it seem more likely that maybe he did not have any other offers, right?
Despite any speculation, the signing makes sense.
This upcoming season, Cousins will have it rough road back to normalcy. Recovering from an Achilles injury is hard as is. Basketball is no exception to this injury. But the expectation of him going back to his pre-injury, all-star self is complete blasphemy, shouts out to Stephen A. Smith.

The Golden State Warriors, on the other hand, is where it makes sense for them to add Cousins. To begin, we can look at there ability to become more of a half-court offense exposing teams to their big man that can pass out of the post while looking for his shot in the process.
We doubt Cousins’ ability to play hard at every second but now with a winning culture that should all change. Being an emotional player as a loser becomes amplified but that will change as Steve Kerr needs to get ahold of the locker room.
His rebounding by himself makes it nearly impossible for teams to compete. With this addition, the team can now play in any type of offense they want, and that’s crazy. You wonder how he will fit in the locker room especially with him going after his new teammates in a matchup early on last season while he was with the Pelicans.

Nonetheless, the Warriors are more than just the favorite. This team is the NBA now. Five all-stars to go with most likely the best offense and defense makes it impossible to beat. It already was impossible to beat. Now all we can do as fans is watch the NBA turn into fire.
