Mikal Bridges, Phoenix Suns
The best 3-and-D prospect in this draft class. A prototype wing for the modern NBA, long, athletic shooter who takes pride in defense. Whether he starts or comes off the bench behind TJ Warren and Devin Booker, Bridges will get plenty of playing time.
He’s a quick, tenacious defender with a staggering 7-foot-2 wingspan despite standing 6-foot-7. He’ll have no problem playing the passing lanes and breaking up plays. That should lead to plenty of steals for the two time NCAA Champion.
Trae Young will have plenty of playing time and freedom to gamble, but his size will make it difficult to take the ball away from bigger NBA opponents. Jevon Carter is an excellent defender capable of racking up steals in a hurry but will likely come off the bench for the Grizz this season.
Bridges will get plenty of playing time for the Suns, as a long and engaged defender steals will come naturally.
