New Orleans replaces Rondo

Cavaliers receive: Solomon Hill, Alexis Ajinca, 2020 first-round pick

Pelicans receive: George Hill, 2022 second-round pick

The backcourt duo of Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday ended the season on a tear. They were integral in helping sweep the third-seeded Portland Trailblazers before falling to the 60-win Houston Rockets team.

Rondo is in Los Angeles, the Pelicans need a new point guard.

Jrue Holiday played incredibly well off the ball last season. George Hill is nowhere near the passer Rondo is but unless they find a way to pry Kemba Walker from Charlotte this might be their best option. Stylistically they are similar players. Both are capable of creating for others but may play better without the ball in their hands too often.

The Pelicans are trying to compete and need a point guard. Hill may be the best available. Dumping the Solomon Hill contract is the icing on the cake.
