Portland acquires: Kyrie Irving, Terry Rozier, 2019 pick (Via Sacramento)

Boston acquires: Damian Lillard

I’ll start this off by saying this is the biggest long shot of any of the scenarios. It’s just hard not to mention Boston in any trade rumor at this point.

With reports looming that Kyrie is considering New York or a team up with Jimmy Butler, Boston may be inclined to shop him. Doing so for Lillard gives them a very similar talent, who is locked until 2021.

Portland needs young talent. Zach Collins is a decent young player but really is just that. Acquiring Terry Rozier and a Kings 2019 draft pick helps create a solid youth foundation and renting Kyrie for a year really doesn’t do any damage, considering he’ll come with a couple young pieces.

Perhaps they convince him to stay. The Kings are all but sure going to flounder in the west this season, so a high draft pick that really only has shown upside at the top prospects can provide a culture shift in Portland, similar to Boston’s.
