14. Phoenix Suns

Last season: 21-61, 15th

Notable ins: DeAndre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Elie Okobo, Trevor Ariza, Richaun Holmes

Notable outs: Elfrid Payton, Tyler Ulis, Alan Williams

I would like to make it clear that I like the Phoenix Suns, and I do think they will be much improved next season. Then again, it’s hard to be any worse than they have been recently.

Their eight season playoff drought will continue, but all of their moves this offseason make sense. DeAndre Ayton should pair nicely with Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges adds some much-needed shooting and defense, and Trevor Ariza is a rare veteran presence on the roster.

None of their outgoing players are significant losses, and they should certainly start trending upward from next season on. Their lowly standing here is an indicator of the talent ahead of them, rather than a shot at their roster.

Patience is still a virtue in the Valley of the Sun, but there’s plenty to like about where this team is heading. Another losing season should be seen as a positive, as they own their 2019 pick as well as a protected first-rounder from Milwaukee.

They may struggle to lose enough games for that, but Suns fans can look forward to finally seeing some progress from their team.
