Looking back at five franchise players that won an NBA championship with the wrong team

The end goal for all great NBA basketball players is a championship ring. The accomplishment proves that they play for the best team in the world and here is the jewelry to prove it. But, like in Lord of the Rings, what is more important than the ring is the journey that came along with it.

After many seasons, creating memorable moments and winning over a fan base, extraordinary players become the face of their franchise. It is hard to think about the Chicago Bulls without Michael Jordan, the Cleveland Cavaliers without LeBron James, and the San Antonio Spurs without Tim Duncan.

In some cases, players who have dedicated several years to one city, shockingly end up in the jersey of another team. Strangely enough, some go on to win at all.
