NBA: 7 stars that we may have seen the last of heading into 2018-19
By Colin Cann
Manu Ginobili
2x All-Star, Sixth Man of the Year, 4x NBA Champion
14043 Career points, 106.4 WS
Manu Ginobili wasn’t supposed to be included in this list, but with the recent news that he is seriously considering retirement and plans to meet with coach Gregg Popovich in the coming days means he needed to be added.
Ginobili is a one of a kind player. He gave whatever was needed of him on a nightly basis for the San Antonio Spurs. Never in his career did he miss out on the playoffs. He, along with Tim Duncan and Tony Parker are the winningest trio in NBA history, in both the regular season and playoffs.
Manu has a legitimate shot at the Hall of Fame, not only did he have a successful NBA career but he was the best player on the 2004 Argentinian National team, the only team to beat the United States since they began allowing pros in the Olympics.
Statistics, accolades, and awards aside, Manu Ginobili is just plain fun to watch. He and his bald spot will be sorely missed if he does indeed end his contract early and call it a career.
