10. New Orleans Pelicans

After a great showing in the NBA playoffs last season, after sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers out of the postseason and then eventually falling to the Golden State Warriors in the second round, the New Orleans Pelicans headed into the offseason with great momentum.

During the summer, the Pelicans didn’t exactly knock it out of the park but they also didn’t sit on their hands either. New Orleans let DeMarcus Cousins walk, but added Julius Randle in his place. And after letting Rajon Rondo sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Pelicans added Elfrid Payton.

The Pelicans will be looking to take another step this season, and a big contingency will fall on these two new additions to the team.
