Back-to-back NBA MVP Awards

Steve Nash may not have ever won an NBA Championship, but he still had a great career – one that brings plenty of memories for both the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns. He helped shape today’s NBA, and was winning MVP’s when no one his stature was winning them.

And not only did Nash win one NBA MVP award, but he won two – back-to-back. He won both awards during his first two seasons with the Suns, after signing with them during the summer of 2004.

He was the leader of the Seven Second or Less Offense, and changed the way we view the point guard position and how we utilize bigs. Nash proved that you didn’t need a dominant big in order to win big in the NBA.

And even though it took a while for the rest of the NBA to catch up, what we’re seeing from the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, plenty of it roots back to what Steve Nash helped establish in the NBA.
